BOOK: Organic Tomatoes – Self-Sufficiency for Home Use

From seed to fantastic flavor – your guide to homegrown tomatoes!

"After a long search for flavorful tomatoes here in Denmark, I have finally found them.” So said Matt Orlando, former head chef at Noma, when he tasted the tomatoes from Gartneri Toftegaard.

Every year thousands of guests attend Garteneri Toftegaards "Tomatsmagedag", where they help choose the best tomatoes – we dare call it Denmark's largest tasting panel.

Out of about 1,200 tested varieties we have carefully selected the 76 best that combine outstanding flavor with good growing conditions.

Everything you need to grow your own tomatoes is collected here in the book – from choosing varieties and cultivation techniques to fertilizing, seed saving and organic growing.

You'll also learn how to protect the plants from diseases, and how to harvest and store the tomatoes so you get the most out of your crop.

Whether you're a beginner or experienced, you'll get the right tools to grow both healthy and delicious tomatoes.
