Flint Axe with Fossil - ART PRINT - CHOOSE SIZE

Long, long, long ago, there are examples of stone axes where the axe is shaped around a sea urchin or a shell that appears prominently in the middle of the axe. Although the Stone Age sounds very old to us, there are actually finds that suggest fossil collecting isn't something only we modern humans, homo sapiens, invented. In graves and settlements that can be dated as far back as 700,000 years BC, and which were inhabited by our ancestors homo neanderthalensis and homo erectus, an unusually large number of pieces of especially sea lily stems have been found.

This art print shows a flint axe from the Stone Age carefully carved around a fossil shell. The axe was found in Norfolk, England.
Lykke Bianca is responsible for the detailed and beautiful illustration for the art print.

The art print is printed on matte, heavy-weight quality paper using our in-house printer.
Sizes A4 and A3 are shipped individually and flat in biodegradable cellophane. Prints from A2 and larger sizes are rolled with tissue paper and shipped in a triangular cardboard tube with a stylish silver print.
