Our approach

At Koustrup & Co., we create products inspired by nature, art and the beauty of everyday life. Good design, quality and materials are at the heart of what we do, and we want to create products that are made to be used and enjoyed for a long time.

We believe that good products also require care behind the scenes. This means knowing the materials we use, documenting product safety, ensuring traceability and taking responsibility for the packaging we place on the market.

For our retailers, we aim to make this as straightforward as possible by providing relevant product and packaging information and handling packaging reporting in the countries where Koustrup & Co. is registered.

PRODUCT SAFETY – GPSR

Koustrup & Co. is responsible for the products we sell under our own brand in accordance with the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR – Regulation (EU) 2023/988).

Our product documentation covers our different product groups, including paper products, textiles, and serving and kitchen products. Depending on the product, this includes information about materials, product specifications, safety, intended use and relevant test or supplier documentation.

Products can be traced through their product number/SKU and our production and supplier records.

MATERIALS

The choice of materials is an important part of our products. Our collections include organic cotton, linen made from European-grown flax, silk, recycled paper, sustainably sourced paper and wood-based materials such as birch veneer and MDF.

Relevant material specifications, certificates, declarations and safety documentation are retained where applicable, including documentation for products intended for food contact or close contact with skin.

PACKAGING – PPWR

Our sales and transport packaging is documented in accordance with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR – Regulation (EU) 2025/40).

The documentation includes relevant information about packaging type and function, material and composition, dimensions, weight, PPWR classification and recycling or waste sorting.

When Koustrup & Co. is responsible for the finished packaging under PPWR, we maintain the required technical documentation and carry out the applicable conformity procedures. For packaging manufactured by another company, the relevant documentation is obtained from the manufacturer or supplier.

PACKAGING REPORTING – EPR

Koustrup & Co. handles packaging reporting in the countries where we are registered for packaging EPR.

Our reporting includes the relevant sales and transport packaging for both B2B and B2C sales. For our B2B customers, this means that the packaging supplied with our products is already included in our reporting where applicable, so the same packaging does not need to be reported again by the customer.

Packaging quantities are recorded and reported according to the requirements in each country.

OUR PACKAGING REGISTRATIONS

DOCUMENTATION & TRACEABILITY

Detailed product, material, safety and packaging documentation is retained as part of our compliance records. This includes, where applicable, product specifications, material documentation, risk assessments, safety information, packaging information and production records.

Supplier identities, sourcing information, detailed test reports and other commercially confidential information are not normally disclosed publicly. Relevant documentation can be made available to competent authorities where required.
