Steine am Strand - GERMAN EDITION - AVAILABLE FOR PREORDER (Releases on 12 March 2026)

All the stones you can find today on the beaches around the Baltic Sea were carried here by the glaciers of the ice ages. Each of these stones tells a story that spans millions to billions of years and reaches far back into prehistory. While some rock types formed deep within the Earth's interior, others originated on ancient sea floors – some even contain fossils of long-vanished organisms.

In „Steine am Strand“, Jesper Milàn explains the Earth's formation history using typical finds from Danish beaches. He describes, in an easy-to-understand way, an impressive variety of rock types:

Sedimentary rocks: sandstone, conglomerate, shale, clay ironstone, limestone, cementstone

Magmatic and metamorphic rocks: granite, basalt, diabase, porphyry, ignimbrite, gneiss, augen gneiss, amphibolite, hornfels

Structural features and minerals: stones with cracks and faults, breccias, flint, pyrite, quartz and quartz rocks

A clear illustration style and high-quality photographs make it easier to recognize and identify the rock types.
