Steine am Strand - GERMAN BOOK - FOR PRE-ORDER (Published on 6 March 2026)

All the stones that can be found today on the beaches in the Baltic Sea area were carried here by the glaciers of the ice ages. Each of these stones tells a story that stretches over millions to billions of years and reaches far back into prehistory. While some rock types formed deep inside the Earth, others have their origin on ancient seafloors – some even contain fossils of long-vanished organisms.

In „Steine am Strand“ Jesper Milàn explains the history of the Earth's formation using typical finds from Danish beaches. He describes, in an easy-to-understand way, an impressive diversity of rock types:

Sedimentary rocks: sandstone, conglomerates, shale, ironstone, limestone, cementstone

Magmatic and metamorphic rocks: granite, basalt, diabase, porphyry, ignimbrite, gneiss, augen gneiss, amphibolite, hornfels

Structural features and minerals: stones with fractures and faults, breccias, flint, pyrite, quartz and quartz rocks

A clear illustration style and high-quality photographs make it easier to recognise and identify the rocks.
