LAVENDER - Fragrant, beautiful and delicious

Lavender is among the garden favorites. Those of us who love it — and most people do — associate it with calm, harmony and purity. Its scent enchants. Once you've seen a lavender field in bloom, you never forget it. The flowers' intense blue color, the strong scent and the sound of the many buzzing bumblebees over the field affect all our senses. And there are few plants as versatile as lavender. For centuries it has been used extensively in skincare, as a medicinal herb and as a delightful aromatic addition to food.

Herb gardener and aromatherapist Eva Olsson from Skaane writes about the history, cultivation, active compounds and uses, and herb gardener Inger Vaaben has translated and edited it into Danish.
