The typical features of the wolf are its short tail, broad and powerful head, and long snout. The ears are short and erect, the eyes yellow and slanted, and the fur gray, brown and at times silvery.
A fully grown male wolf’s body length is typically between 110 and 150 cm and it weighs around 40 kg.
The animal adapts well to the opportunities in its habitat. It can even adjust to human activity and may therefore seek food near settlements.
Only surpassed by the brown bear, the wolf is Europe’s second-largest land-dwelling predator.
