The tuberose is an annual bulbous and tuber-bearing herb that grows in loamy, sandy soil. The plant's flowers sit in a clustered raceme on a stem that typically reaches between 300 and 100 cm in height. The flowers are white, trumpet-shaped and waxy, and 4-6 cm long.
Tuberose is sometimes used in bridal bouquets because of the flower's long-lasting durability.
The herb is not frost-tolerant and blooms only once. The timing of flowering determines when the bulbs are planted as well as the amount of heat the plant receives during the growth period. However, it is most often seen flowering from July to September.
