Butterflies and hawk moths can be observed in nature and gardens. Day-flying butterflies are beautiful and inspire admiration with their bright colours and graceful flight. We delight at the sight of the first brimstone butterfly on a sunny day in March and at the colourful peacock butterfly fluttering around the perennial bed.
Butterflies are more than just the day-flying species. They are colourful, have large broad wings and fly from flower to flower. Some of the butterflies (moths) are only active at night, but these too have their own beauty and poetry once you start to notice them.
On this poster you can easily tell the butterflies apart and at the same time learn the names of the most common species in Denmark.
