NISSER - 8 cards

High-quality cards with nisse motifs illustrated by Peter Nielsen.

A nisse is a Scandinavian phenomenon. In Sweden they're called tomte. Today farm nisser are primarily a symbol of Christmas, but there are other nisser too, such as forest nisser, church nisser, ship nisser and typesetter nisser. Peter Nielsen presents 8 examples of the nisser he encounters near his home in Bregninge on Ærø.

Beskrivelse

The motifs on the cards:

Typesetter nisser - they jumble the order of letters. Their worst enemy is the proofreader nisser, although those are very rare.
Farm nisser - they live their lives in the countryside. Farm nisser live in attics and under roofs and are only afraid of one thing: cats!
Forest nisser - they live on the forest floor and closely resemble farm nisser, but they take life very easy.
Church nisser - they're hardworking but a bit shy, and you almost never see them.
Christmas nisser - they're Santa's helpers and celebrate Christmas all the way through March. They get gifts and eat rice porridge every evening.
Winter nisser - they collect seeds and feed for the birds and thrive in the cold.
Mischief nisser - they tease each other, animals and people.
Ship nisser - they're friendly and helpful, but have a tendency to tease.

The cards are printed at a European Swan-labelled print house and are made from environmentally certified FSC paper.
The envelopes are made from eco-friendly eucalyptus paper.
