ORGANIC URBAN GARDENS

Jens Juhl and Sølva Falgren talk about growing edible plants in the city. As an "urban gardener" you can live in the city and still produce your own fresh organic vegetables year-round.

The book explains how to grow plants in cities and which plants are suitable for small balconies or larger planter boxes. The more limited space and possibly less light make growing a bit different than in a typical suburban garden.

Beskrivelse

By "urban gardening" we mean all imaginable forms of cultivation in cities. It can be community gardens on squeezed patches of land in courtyards, on rooftops and in parks, but also individuals growing on balconies, windowsills and in small gardens. In recent years, city gardens have really taken off. More and more people are joining growing communities where fresh vegetables are produced year-round.

Authors Jens Juhl and Sølva Falgren have tended their own small organic garden for 25 years. They teach many courses, give talks across the country and have been active with loan-hens and have taken many other initiatives to promote organic growing.

Authors Jens Juhl and Sølva Falgren have published several books on organic cultivation - including Økologisk drivhus, Økologisk have, Økohøns, HaveAlmanak - Økologisk have måned for måned.
