The authors Nielsen & Nielsen, who runs organic spice horticulture and has mint as a specialty, tells the history of mint, gives insight into botany and good advice on cultivation and harvesting. Here we describe the many exciting mint variations that exist and which we can grow, enjoy and enjoy. In addition, they write about their use in food and drinks. The fragrant, lovely green herb also gets recipes and tips along the way in this little white manual.
Mint is a lush and aromatic plant whose properties have been known way back in time and have been used by widely different cultures. There is virtually no culture that has not used mint. It is used medically to cushion nausea and alleviate indigestion, cosmetic for refreshing and cooling massage, in the home for insect protection and to provide a breath of fresh air in the living room.
The chef Nikolaj Kirk has written a preface and prepared a mint recipe specifically for the book.
Kirsten Tind has illustrated the beautiful mint watercolors.
