The lion is the only cat that lives in herds. The size of the flock varies from a few pieces up to 30 members. The female lions are the rootstock of the herd, and everyone is related to each other. The females are helped when they hunt together in a herd. They come in heat almost simultaneously and are divided to die and care for the kids born at the same time. It is this unique collaboration that keeps the pack together and gives it success.
