The chimpanzee's hands and fingers are very similar to human. The thumb is opposed, it has nails instead of claws, and fine motor skills are as good as in man. The chimpanzee can walk on the hind legs and pick the fruits of the trees with his hands, and it can pick up even the smallest thing with the "tweezers" between the thumb and forefinger. The hands are also used when kids and other monkeys in the herd are to be groomed. When two monkeys greet each other kindly, reach out to the touch.
