About Us
In 2011, Søren and Ulla Koustrup founded the publishing house Koustrup & Co. to share knowledge about plants, animals, gastronomy, and sustainable living. With backgrounds in biology and publishing, and a shared passion for nature and environmental topics, it felt like a natural step.
In 2014, the company expanded to include two daughters and a son-in-law, who brought experience in design, sales, and horticulture. This led to a broader range of products, now also including interior items such as trays, tea towels, umbrellas, and more.
Our mission is to share knowledge
Through our products and with a deep passion for beautiful and decorative illustrations, we continuously develop new quality items that delight the eye while sharing knowledge about nature, gardens, food, and animals.
Our commitment is what drives the company and our ideas forward
We love working with our subjects, products, and customers, as well as with authors, illustrators, and graphic designers. The company is not just a job for us, but a true passion and a desire to communicate and create new, beautiful products.
Each product has a story to tell — and we are always happy to share that story with our customers.
Environment
We strive, whenever possible, to develop and produce with the environment in mind. We make extensive use of FSC-certified, organic, or otherwise sustainably sourced materials.
Packaging
Our packaging filler is made from corn and can be placed directly on the compost heap — or you can use it to build figures with your children by moistening it slightly and sticking the pieces together. The cellophane bags are biodegradable, and all plastic used is made from reduced-plastic materials.
Everything that comes through our door is reused, which means our parcels may look a little different from time to time. Each parcel is packed carefully and collected by our regular GLS contact.
