Some plants from nature have for thousands of years been used to relieve and heal ailments. With the right natural remedies, for example stomach aches and inflammations can be treated. Many plants contain vitamins and natural compounds that have beneficial effects on various conditions.

The definition of a medicinal herb is a plant that can relieve, prevent or cure a given ailment. If a plant can ward off headaches, colds, small cuts and the like, it can therefore be considered a medicinal plant.

On this poster of medicinal plants, botanical illustrator Kirsten Tind has depicted some of the plants that can be grown in our temperate climate.
